Job Summary:

Machine operators load and manipulate raw materials on manufacturing machines, while on the machine and monitoring the production process and inspecting products. While working at the machine, the operator monitors the product on the machine, closely to detect any signs of non-conformance that may affect the quality of work or finished product. Machine operators also inspect all finished goods, ensuring that products meet all product quality and packaging standards. This position works onsite at the Guilford, ME location.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintain a safe and clean workspace while following established safety rules and regulations, including PPE requirements.

· Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by Puritan’s Quality System

· Effectively monitor production, inspection, packaging.

· Follow production requirements as outlined on BOM/Requisition.

· Complete all required manufacturing paperwork correctly and on time.

· Perform basic product testing for quality.

· Pays attention to finished product specification details.

· Observe, maintain, and support the completion of all standard work processes.

· Participate as an active member of the production assembly team.

· Performs maintenance and cleaning processes when required to do so.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

· Ability to learn and work on all machines, with all materials, in any department, when required.

· Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

· Ability to read and understand instructions, and inspect parts produced.

· Reliable and punctual

 

Physical Requirements:

· Occasionally lift 50 lbs. and regularly lift to 30lbs, handle tasks involving frequent bending, twisting, lifting, squatting, walking, and standing. May be asked to stand for prolonged periods of time.

· Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Must be able to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.

· Able to wear PPE consistent with requirements related to the production of swabs for medical use, which is an essential requirement and includes but is not limited to, the need to wear masks, booties, smocks etc. needed both for protection of the employee and also to maintain the appropriate sterile environment for the manufacture of medical swabs.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent comb. of experience and education

Hourly pay starting at $17.05
Monday- Thursday 10-hour shift schedule. Overtime as needed
