Buster Keaton's Classic 1928 Silent Film Steamboat Bill, Jr. comes to the Center Theatre screen with live piano accompaniment by Maine's own Doug Protsik! Join us on Sunday, April 30th at 2pm for this very special performance. In this silent comedy, college boy William Canfield Jr. (Buster Keaton) reunites with his boat captain father in a Mississippi River town. Though he's flummoxed by Willie's citified appearance, the elder Canfield seems to have found an ally to help him compete with fellow riverboat owner John James King (Tom McGuire). The film is known for what may be Keaton's most famous film stunt: The facade of a house falls around him while he stands in the precise location of an open window to avoid being flattened. Doug Protsik, a pianist and composer of Old Time Piano scores for silent movies, is a lifelong musician and music educator well known in the folk music world. He is director of Maine Fiddle Camp. Admission is $10, $8 for students, seniors and veterans, and $6 for Center Theatre members.
