Since 2004, the Moosehead Lake Chocolate Festival has been delighting locals and visitors alike with decadent treats and community spirit. The festival was created by former Moosehead Chamber Executive Director Bob Hamer and his wife Sue as a fundraiser for the Chamber. Tony Bartley and his daughter Diane were involved for many years with the Chocolate Festival. Tony is famous for his delectable chocolate fountain, where he would dip fresh fruit into warm, melty, yummy chocolate. That tradition continues today with the Chocolate Fountain, in memory of Tony!
The Chocolate Festival is held annually on the Sunday before President’s Day — just in time for Valentine’s Day! Through the years, this beloved event has popped up in venues across Greenville, including the Masonic Temple, Greenville Consolidated School, Bartley’s Event Center, and even drive-through formats. With hundreds of volunteers and bakers helping over the years, 10’s of thousands pieces of chocolate have been supplied for chocolate lovers from all over the state to enjoy! The Moosehead Region truly is the best!
What makes it even sweeter? 100% of proceeds go directly to Destination Moosehead Lake’s marketing efforts, helping showcase the region’s natural beauty and charm to the world.
